Pros

When I interviewed for the job they SOLD ME on a DREAM!!! Training was only 2 weeks which you sat in a class going through a binder of rules, scripts, policy, etc. which NO one ends up using when you get on the sales floor. The only PRO was that after 30 days you had full benefits. They have break rooms stocked with snacks, food etc. to keep you their and not to leave for any lunch or breaks.

Cons

Where to begin. Well first off they sell you on this DREAM that you will make a lot of money AND this will be your home with a so called "FUN and LOVING environment" which is absolutely not true! Obviously just like any other sales job(s) their is a minimum goal to hit each month, HOWEVER when you get onto the sales floor and start taking calls you have 30 days to hit that goal, well after the useless training (again which when you get to actually selling, management tells you "Forget what you were taught in class, that's just for corporate purposes and this is how you need to sell on the phone"} management expects you to know everything and FORCE sell customers with extreme tactics such as calling customers multiple times a day even though their busy or at work and they request not to be contacted. Then if the customer says YES to getting solar panels you will be required to collect documents, review them, design a system for them and send the customer(s) the legal documents which are signed via DocuSign, keep in mind that while doing all this you are still required to get new business which they PUSH you sign up friends/family which end up getting ripped off and they tell you that "This is a sales driven environment and its RECOMMENDED that you work extra hours to show your worth" well I was one who worked from 7am to 8pm and even on weekends to yet only be let go and the only reason I was told was that I was working too much. This is not a rant, this is to let people know that if you work for this company be prepared to be sold on a dream and when you get customers signed up that you will NOT get paid on your commission that you are promised! If you quit or get let go they will then take all your installations and put it in someone else's name and not pay you a penny on that commission.

Pros

Since the day I started with SolarCity everything has been great. My previous job in sales had a good atmosphere but something was missing. I didn't know at the time but that something was a purpose. At SolarCity I found that purpose and for me it's sustainability. Money can't be your only driver in life, although the pay is great and the benefits are amazing, knowing that I'm doing something that is going to change the world for the better is what really drives me. On top of that the company leads the way in the solar industry and has innovators like Elon Musk fueling the fire. In sales reputation is everything so when you've got a good company behind you like SCTY it makes you that much more credible to the customer. I love my job here and am very thankful this opportunity came my way. Very excited to see what the future holds for SolarCity and renewables in general.

Cons

Must have good work ethic and be a people person. Organization is key as well, if your not that person direct sales may not be for you.
