Pros

Relatively nice working environment, great people. Love the work atmosphere. People work together on a daily basis in order to meet bigger goals every month.

Cons

I was pushed harder than what I felt was appropriate for the wage. Upper management really doesn't understand how hard they are pushing the installers at this point.

Pros

The people and the culture of the company are great! They are unlike any other in Las Vegas. They encourage ideas and new concepts to help transform the company. They are very team-oriented. Everyone works towards the same goals: a better future, a better environment. Management is really easy to talk to and very approachable. VP's and CFO have walked around the office and just talked to their employees, in tracksuits. If you work hard and show management you can take on their goals, exceed them and are willing to take on additional responsibilities, they will shower you with praise and CONSIDER you for a promotion to a Senior (enter job title here) or Supervisor position (even in another department). Promotions happen quickly if you show your merit. You get to communicate with other departments and learn different facets of the business and are able to apply and move to different departments that you may be interested in. You get to meet and interact with different people and build amazing relationships. I developed great friendships and amazing referrals. The snacks: mid-afternoon diabetes-encouraged pick-me-ups include unlimited flavors of soda and Snickers and Kit Kats. Luckily, their medical, dental and vision health plans are decent and becomes effective after your first 30 days. They also offer HSA, FSA, and AFLAC and disability. They pay for your life insurance while with the company. Healthier snack alternatives include cereal, bananas and green apples, Nutri-grain breakfast and granola bars. Their fridges are stocked with English muffins, milk, almond milk and individually wrapped peanut butter, butter and jellies. Halloween is unlike any other holiday for SolarCity. You will be floored! They also partake in alcoholic beverages in the office occasionally depending on well the company did in the quarter, approved by management, of course. They often give out swag too!

Cons

If you aren't ready or adaptable to change, this is not the place for you. Processes change by the hour sometimes. Be ready for it. Sometimes when processes change, management doesn't announce them in huddles. Night shifts and sharing desks. Pay can be less than appealing at first; however if your position is available for receiving incentive bonuses - the sky may be the limit! They are conducting quality checks in many areas after the sale, so be aware you may be graded upon your performance and if you fail, disciplinary action will be enforced. Training can be extensive or lacking, depending on your department/team. Servers crash weekly, so productivity slows down as a result. Dress code just became stricter (no more flip-flop Fridays), but more geared towards business casual.

Pros

With SolarCity, you truly feel like you're part of a company that's making a difference in the world. It's also a company that is very invested in your personal growth and seeks to give you more responsibility as soon as you are ready to take it on. People on the sales team are positive, highly motivated, and inspirational; competition is friendly and helpful. You, as an individual, are celebrated every single step of the way - literally on a daily basis.

Cons

Work-life balance is difficult, especially in an entry-level sales position. I get the feeling that there is flexibility, but the best days to work are on the weekend. This means time away from friends and loved ones who are on a traditional 9-5 M-F schedule; however, after promotion, you are afforded autonomy in scheduling appointments and managing your own time.
