It’s not an easy thing to do, and obstacles are thrown down at every turn. However, the company brings a purpose to your day – you know that everyone is working together to change the world for generations to come. I am grateful to work with super smart, humble, dedicated people in a company that has a strong values-driven culture. Every day is interesting, challenging, and purposeful.
Cons
If SolarCity is to change the world, then it must aggressively adapt to challenges (and there are many). This means that your work day is demanding. The company is not perfect. Sometimes things go wrong, and good people work hard to make it right. It is up to every person to take responsibility, use initiative, ask questions, and work things out. There is no hand holding here - it is not the right place for those without resilience and a strong work ethic. Not everyone copes with the intense pace, work volume, and rapid change.
