Pros

Great company culture if you work in any department besides sales.

Cons

Sales department is horrible. Turnover is the highest i've ever seen at a company. Not just low level turnover but also executive management. To many specialized managers who point fingers at other mangers for underperformance. After seeing the shady things that take place in the sales department, I would never get solar on my home.

Pros

Nice software, great Team Leads and managers to help. People working here are amazing, great friends for life. Good PV Design job. If you are really struggling and need a decent job, this is the place.

Cons

Very canned design. They aren't training designers, but rather people to just push button on a desktop. Either pressed to work insane hours or you pretty much get boot. Bonus pay does not directly reflect your efforts or successes. Very "Dog eat Dog" world that Solar City lives in and it creates horrible workplace environment and working conditions. Little or no room for growth within company anymore. Stocks speak for itself.

Pros

There is definately room for upward movement. Flexible work hours if you meet and exceed production, good product, good brand recognition. Company car, smart phone (i had a company phone but they now do a monthly reimbursement of $50 for new hires), computer, and wireless hot spot.

Cons

Minimal help from company, leads are all self generated, swim or sink approach, extremely high turnover rate. I was there for 3.5 years and saw maybe 80 people come and go. Company approach is to lower costs of acquisitions so ultimately they lower compensation. We were originally paid based on system size which then got converted to payout based on number of panels. Many people didn't notice but as panels get more efficient the number of panels needed for the same system size decreases, ultimately decreasing your pay.
