Pros

With 15,000 employees, there are some wonderful people working there.

Cons

This company is much like a shell game on the streets of the big city. They pacify and inoculate with constant sayings and slogans. 50% of all signed contracts cancel, yet the company will not officially cancel them in fear of a dropping stock price. So what happens? These poor customers who have informed SolarCity they no longer want to do business with us - are now called 3 to 4 times a week for months on end. Upper Management can not stand sales people, and it has been that way for 2+ years. That is why there are so many slogans, to cover up the actual disdain from the top down which permeates the cesspool known as SolarCity Sales.

Pros

Great benefits, make your own hours, car and gas card, Solar City really cares about what they do for the customer and the environment. They are driven to make the world a better place. Room for growth. Overall a great company for someone interested in running their own business.

Cons

You really need to want to run your own business. The idea here is that you get a couple leads from the company, but the rest you need to source yourself. There is no limit to how much you can make, but it is not as easy as they say to get your own leads. The sales process is extremely long and you have to wait until panels are installed to get paid your commission and there a many variables that can prevent this from coming to fruition that are outside the FEC's control. Quota's are done on a monthly basis, so you never feel like there is time to breath. You finish one month and are excited about hitting your numbers and then the next month begins and managers are harping already that you need to hit your numbers. Lots of promoting from within based solely on sales and just because you are a great salesperson does not mean you are qualified to be a manager. Losing great talent because of the boiler room mentality. Expectation is to work 6-7 days a week and always on weekends.

Pros

Mission driven culture with good people.

Cons

Benefits get taken out of pay, base pay is 15k less than most other solar companies (not worth brand image), structure for growth in career, delivering proper expectations.
