Pros

Lots of passionate coworkers, my sales manager was very approachable, if you are really good at sales you have the chance to get promoted. If you survive long enough to establish a good client base you can do well financially.

Cons

The company generates a lot of excitement because a lot of employees are passionate about renewable energy. However, the reality is that this is a cutthroat boiler room sales position. Hit quota or you are out. If you aren't a natural salesperson or can't figure it out very quickly you will be gone within six months. That is what happened to myself and over half of the people I trained with.

Pros

Clean Energy is great. SolarCity has a great offering. Excellent product, installers, and financing. If the local incentives are good, it's much easier to sell. If you're a hustler, you might be able to make a ton of money.

Cons

No matter what they tell you in the interview, it's door-to-door sales. The entire company is run by millennials, that do millennial things. National weekly sales video conference from a phone in a car? Sure. 100% of manager/rep communication via text message? Yup. Attention to detail? Negative. Company structure is CONSTANTLY changing. Entire departments are downsized on a whim. Zero marketing/advertising support, and reps are forbidden to do so on their own. Software suite is an absolute nightmare. So much so that they train on workarounds, both in national and local training sessions. The solar industry is incredibly shady. Even though SolarCity (now Tesla Energy) has a great offering, you are constantly fighting that reputation.
