Pros

Money. Good co-workers. Cari. There are 2 free lunches per week plus quite often free breakfast. Gym on site. Bonuses.

Cons

The atmosphere is a frat boy inspired pressure cooker. It can feel like you are constantly ramming product down people's throats.

Pros

The Engineers, the reps, and the 'Company-Mom'. You meet great people here, and build lasting friendships. These people are the reason you survive your time here because no one understands the stress and verbal abuse you endure...you are in the trenches together enduring the hell that is SolarWinds.

Cons

Lets start with the CEO who only comes down from his tower on the 4th floor to yell, "sell something" during EOQ. Someone who could not point out one of his sales reps in a police line-up, yet alone know their name. I'm not talking new reps either, but veterans. People that have dedicated themselves to SW for years. He doesn't even know his Account Executives by name, those whom are a contributing factor to his success as CEO and the companies success. Rather than try to fix the issues in-house, and try to change the culture in his own company to prevent people from WANTING to leave and SEEKING employment elsewhere, he sends threats and tries to invoke fear if other companies continue to hire reps from SW. I don't know if he is just clueless or doesn't care, but reps leave because they want to, not because they are sought out. No one works there/stays because they like it, or want to, but because they are looking for something better...hoping that it comes sooner rather than later. There is no growth within the company here. They will send people away to run different offices, in-state or out of country, with promise of a promotion upon their return. These people have come back to the Austin office with the hopes of a higher position, going from running an office to managing a sales team. This is a perfect example of how much they don't care about their employees and do not appreciate their dedication. Work/Life Balance. Ha. It does not exist. If you do happen to get time off you get grief for it. If you are sick, they make you feel guilty that you are not there. If you have to call in for any reason, you call in with the fear you are going to get fired. They are insensitive, slave drivers who do not care about you or what's going on in your life. This is a company run by 'bosses' not 'leaders.' Work hard, play hard? More like Work, work, work, work, work. Don't think that you will have weekends off. You won't. You will get an email on a Sunday asking you to complete some task. More than likely you will receive an email at 8 or 9 pm telling you to come in early the next day. If you want a job where you are glued to your email, then by all means send in your resume. You hit quota? Great, but that is not enough. You exceed quota? Great, but that is not enough. You sold $50K yesterday? Okay, but what do you have coming in today? Nothing you do here is ever good enough. One Director in-particular here has zero respect for his employees. I've never met someone so two-faced in my life. He has something to prove and will do anything he can to stay relevant. He will put you down, verbally abuse you, and make you think he is fighting for you. He fights for no one, but himself. Get a spot on his team and you will be sending your resume to McDonald's just to get away.
