Pros

Lunch, snacks, coffee. Occasional mid level good workers all fighting to get out as soon as they land.

Cons

Weekend availability expected because the top tier are bullies whose families perhaps want nothing to do with them, weekend or not. In the absence of clear direction, they run in different directions and spend a majority of their time trying to make an absentee CEO happy. The ceo never shows his face except when he suddenly gets covid, gets cured in 2 days and comes Onstage to tell we must all be put under “Constant Pressure.” Because he can.

Overworked with no strategy

Pros

Prior to one of their many company acquisitions, the company I worked for had a positive work environment. There were flaws of course, but nowhere near the issues after being acquired. Before the acquisition, there was: great synergy between departments, clear communication from the ELT and transparency, employee morale was above average, and a decent work/life balance. All of the things listed are now gone. I will say that after the acquisition, camaraderie was strong as everyone was wondering what is happening behind the scenes and left in the dark.

Cons

It's a shame and quite sad to list out all of the cons experienced after the acquisition. I will suggest prospective (and current employees) folks to look at the negative reviews - they speak the truth. It is worth highlighting that most business units are extremely overworked and understaffed. There is virtually no information or strategy being relayed to employees from the ELT/C-Level (unless you have VP/director that is sharing the little information provided to them). We went from having leadership that was transparent to leadership that provides little. Definitely need to update the salaries.

Solera ruined a good company

Pros

The tenured and experienced engineers that might still be with the company....for now. However, continued employee churn and layoffs deplete the company talent.

Cons

Pay was below industry standards; frozen merit increase cycles for past 2 years; lack of company, upper management, and product direction. Significant layoffs company wide; benefits cut and costs raised; training programs cut; no comp pay for after hours or on call rotation work; HEAVY on call rotation page outs. Took away remote employee stipends for 2022 with expectation you are on call and hosting IT equipment at your home at your expense. Employee morale and people culture are gone.
