Pros

Free lunch and then I can't think of anything else.

Cons

This is a company that constantly focuses on distractions. This is not by accident, but it's actually how they stay away from dealing with their own issues and instead put shiny objects that are nothing more than empty shells. This starts with the CEO. He's way over his head on this job. I think he figured out a long time ago that he has no clue on how to run this business, so he keeps repeating his cliches that don't mean anything and don't add anything. This company has nothing to offer to the market. It has 20-year-old software that is falling apart, covered in duct tape, resulting in a shrinking market share and fast track to irrelevance. Our main competitor (and market leader) runs circles around us. Instead of investing so we can catch up, we keep reducing our development/engineering workforce, accelerating the path to irrelevance. What is is like to work there? Basically hell. There's no sense of respect for people. We are constantly pushed emergency work that doesn't mean anything, and end up working overnight/weekends to deliver work that goes into a black hole. This company lives by hiding: hiding the sad state of its products, the incompetency of its leadership, the fake nature of its strategy... You can see that in the fake posts on Glassdoor.

Pros

Best reasons to work at Solera... 1. The people - Solera Corp HQ contains brilliant, driven, output-focused individuals 2. No day is the same - yes, there are "fire drills" happening, but that just means that there's high expectations to deliver solutions/decisions to meet and exceed customer expectations 3. Benefits: free gym membership, lunch catered three times a week, breakfast available everyday, low premiums ($.58 per paycheck for vision), 401(k) matching/vesting, casual attire, free food - always!, wellness programs, free executive exams, 5% back on medical premiums per year, funded HSA, unlimited vacation, and YOU get to decide your WORK/LIFE balance

Cons

- 11 years in the books now.. this company needs to put their focus on process improvement, otherwise a difficult path is ahead - Within a 12 month period, no bonuses or promotions were received in my department - No communication from senior management

Good Company before the merger

Pros

The people were great. And direct management cared about the people that worked for them. There was a sense of trust between the employees.

Cons

Hardly any raises. The merger ruined the office and the respect of the employees to management. Became an toxic environment where you had to watch your back at every turn
