Decent Place to Start

Pros

I had a great team lead and department manager. They really cared about my success and helping me do well in my role. I also enjoyed working with my team. Soliant does a good job of hiring people who are truly enthusiastic about the job and who want to do well. The support from my team really helped my experience overall. I think this can be a good starting point for a lot of people who are looking to work in sales and/or HR. Benefits are also OK, nothing to write home about but they’re decent for an entry level job.

Cons

First of all, there is little incentive to go above and beyond. You don’t receive work from home perks until your gold shovel (which can take 2 years) and these get taken away if you don’t get a deal every two weeks. There is also way too much outside of your control that affects your success (I.e. school directors not signing off on new hires, meddling teachers unions, candidates suddenly pretending you don’t exist 30 minutes after confirming an interview). Regardless of how hard you work and how much effort you put in, you’ll get blamed for things you have zero control over. I’ve known more than one good, hardworking employee who was fired when a deal(s) went south. You have very little work life balance as an AE, and will be expected to answer calls/emails when you are on vacation. Other departments have better work life balance, but the company is downsizing so there is limited opportunity to move around. Honestly felt like just another number on a spreadsheet rather than a valued employee. Overall this isn’t a bad place to start but I wouldn’t recommend that most stay long term.

Pros

Friendships with other Account Execs

Cons

Micromanagement, lack of purpose in this job, you do the same exact thing every single day, leadership isn't great, no flexibility to work from home until you've been with the company for an average of 2 years (even though I'm SELLING teletherapy and work from home jobs)

Pros

Gym, young work environment, you get your own cubicle

Cons

7:45-5 schedule, 2% commission for at least a year which amounts to nothing, daily meetings that feel like high school, staffing agency so you’re not really “selling” anything, difficult to move up, it takes 2 weeks to get 3 hrs pto, no sick days
