Pros

* There is an opportunity to be a leader in the space if everybody acts in good faith (especially top leadership), but I don't see that happening.

Cons

* Company is not making enough $$$ sadly :( * No engineering leadership/expertise. There is Prof Tom Mitchell but he visits once a quarter and more like a Q&A session once a month, but other than him all the engineers are inexperienced and do not know how to handle things correctly(technically as well as leadership decisions). * Pay is low. In general, company is very cheap even when it comes to minor things like snacks, accessories etc. CEO is very greedy IMO. * There is no culture of openness. All the decisions are taken behind closed doors with no clear rationale. * Promotions seem very arbitrary with no set goals/accomplishments. If you are planning to join, please stay away, mainly due to point 1.

Solvvy is a special place...

Pros

Lots to like here: deep, hard to duplicate technology but wrapped into a business application that is easy to package and sell . Really good opportunities for career growth since you are literally building everything with the team; Great customer list for such an early-stage company (the names are kind of insane). Open, transparent culture - you will be involved in all key decisions if you want to be; Strong founding team that mixes deep engineering backgrounds (PHDs from CMU) with a very experienced SaaS CEO; really great group of people; should be a big market too, so lots to like thus far...

Cons

Palo Alto location may be tough from some SF locations (not sure when/if they will move further north but i'm sure it has to happen); this isn't the place if you are into free massages and stuff, the focus is on building the company not perks; Also you have to learn quickly and teach yourself, everyone is running fast; Be prepared to work hard but it's not mind-numbing boring work either..

Pros

Solvvy has an incredibly impressive blend of all the factors that a candidate on the market for a new role would be lucky to find: a top-notch product that has a market ripe for disruption, smart and thoughtful founders who are very dedicated to building a successful company, and a fun, fast-paced startup culture. The company is still very early stage so if you are really looking for the true startup experience and for the opportunity to take on a great deal of responsibility and learning tons along the way, this is the place for you!

Cons

The office only has one conference room, so it can be too noisy sometimes.
