large company that is made up of multiple operating companies makes it difficult to get certain strategic initatives moving

"Family" Business - Yeah, sure...

Pros

Empowered by direct manager to make decisions and solve problems. Great support from certain staff members.

Cons

Overworked. SEVERELY underpaid. False promises of promotions. Multiple upon multiple hats. Constant expectation to perform other roles, somehow get in trouble for it as well. Constant "fighting" between corporate and local companies. Leadership doesn't know what they want. Won't pay you fairly and will claw back money for certain things.
