great environment, but no growth opportunities

Pros

Benefits are great (health insurance, education, sick/vacation time), inspiring to work in higher education since so many opportunities to learn and work with interesting young students.

Cons

The difficulty lies in the pay---they always hire at the bottom of the 'range' with almost no chance whatsoever to move up the payscale. If you come from the private sector it can be a shock to work in a complex bureaucracy like a public university. Not a dynamic, agile environment for putting ideas into practice if you are on the staff or admin.

Employees are fun to work with, everyone for the most part gets along fairly well. Relatively laid back environment with good workers.

Cons

Get paid once a month and the pay isn't the greatest, just slightly above minimum wage.

Easy to balance work and school. The job is very simiple. Hardest part of job is up with overly emothional people. Manager is very friendly. E

Cons

Some employees have worked here for 30+ years. These employees can be very difficult to deal with on projects and daily work as they only want to do thing their way and actually slow the process down. Most employees that are over the age of 50 constally complain about being under paid and over work, when infact they just stand around and talk with there friends all day.
