Pros

The team is intelligent, friendly, and very supportive towards your learning

Cons

At the end of the day, Sonos is a software company, not a hardware company. The software teams gets many more resources, manpower, and special treatment. It feels like the hardware teams get screwed over sometimes. Its a very fun and rewarding place to work as a hardware engineer, but maybe not the best place to stay a long time if you want a stable job with consistent growth

Pros

Great people BELOW leadership levels Music-obsessed culture Some flexibility in work location and hours

Cons

Extremely dysfunctional and disconnected leadership (even after C-level departures in January 2025) Layoffs every 6-12 months because of bad and ever changing "strategy" and "forecast" Disengaged, exhausted, disempowered workforce Perpetual changes to performance and compensation resulting in lower overall pay for most employees, except the most senior They've lost their way on product innovation and quality
