Pros

I started working at Sonos about 2 months ago and I love it so far. It's very free and casual here and most of people are nice and very talented. Feels a lot different from typical corporate companies- unique culture/ways of getting things done. Fast paced, the way I like for a company like this. Not to mention great employee benefits (health, PTO, stock options, discounts, etc). They have a headquarter in Santa Barbara and I like taking business trips there- modern, clean facilities. I heard our Cambridge office is moving to downtown Boston (much better office with bigger space) this fall, I can't wait! I will have to see if I still like working here at a year mark, but so far so good, I'm so glad that I am at Sonos.

Cons

Since the headquarter is in SB, sometimes communicating with people there can get challenging. We have to consider the time difference to hold a team meeting and conference call. However, I think the company has been doing pretty well to overcome this factor and I don't think it's a huge deal breaker.

Pros

Great culture, much emphasis has been placed on creating an environment conducive to great work. Nice new facilities located in various buildings in and around downtown Santa Barbara. #lifeatsonos

Cons

Sometimes leadership ambiguity gets in the way of taking risks and failing fast. Certain groups have more freedom to innovate while others are stuck in paralysis.

My career has really taken off at Sonos

Pros

I have had plenty of training, networking, and overall growth opportunities since working at Sonos. There is also a very strong management training program. The people are extremely concerned with the quality of the product which is huge for me. In terms of gaining skills for my current field of interest, this company has provided me the most opportunity thus far.

Cons

Unfortunately, the engineers at this company seem to want to always roll their own stuff which has its benefits as well as its drawbacks. This divergence comes as a result of rapid growth as well as some organizational shifts. Sometimes I feel like people are a little too full of themselves and their ideas here.
