      Pros

      Great experience to learn at global company with great products that always changing. Good desire to want to be better. Ability to work on variety of projects and programs

      Cons

      Too bogged down by corporate structure, needs to move quicker and make faster decisions on its own. Depending upon your department work life balance can be difficult.

      Sony is a good company but lacks direction

      Pros

      Sony still creates great products like 4K TVs, action cams, Alpha cameras, and home audio systems. The company also offers great amenities and tries hard to motivate employees by sponsoring employee events. Great employee discounts.

      Cons

      Due to the layoffs and the way that they sacked the previous CEO, the majority of the employees have lost faith in the current CEO who has been in the company forever. He just doesn't have the charisma that the previous CEO had and he is basically HQ's puppet. Japan HQ is trying to control the US operations and more Japanese expats will take over management roles thus impeding local employees to get promoted. And unfortunately, Japan HQ is still struggling trying to figure out their own direction and strategy. Although the company is doing better, Sony overall is hurting and wouldn't be surprised if there are more layoffs. The HR department is also very weak and unfortunately don't really care about employees but more about the company.
