      It is a big company and repetable company.

      Cons

      Sony have a high turnover. Most of the employee are from temp Agency. They are going to relocate they business in china and other countries by 2011.

      Pros

      Brand recognition--hands down the best thing about working for Sony. The amazing technology and products that put your friends in awe and relatives glowing when they receive their favorite products. The quality and stature of Sony products is something I will always be proud of.

      Cons

      Lack of organization, poor managers who dont provide alot of guidance and structure when you begin a job and need direction, lots of overlap in responsibilty which results in a lot of confusion on who should do what. HR is mostly a political business partner and there to justify unethical claims against managers. My skin crawls at some of the things that are allowed to occur in the workplace. No work life balance and getting promotion is based on a popularity contest...not your performance review. Dont bother spending too long on that. If you want exposure to the knitty gritty in consumer electronics and the inner workings of a renound global brand...go for it but enter at your own risk.

      Big company with good people but size gets in the way at times

      Pros

      Solid company with a great history. Good attention to product quality and trying hard to reinvent itself.

      Cons

      Has fallen behind in product innovation in many but not all area. Bureaucratic at times. Layoffs in recent years have resulted from many mis-steps by management, and have impacted morale.
