Pros

Generally smart and respectful people. Interesting and challenging technology. Lots of places to solve hard problems and have impact if you get involved.

Cons

Management team is overwhelmingly hired and promoted based on technical skills rather than true leadership experience. This leads to some unfortunate unintended behaviors and many managers acting more like individual contributors than actual leaders. Based on recent Glassdoor reviews there are clearly some problem areas in the organization that need to be addressed, but those are generally isolated problems and not indicative of the company as a whole. Much of the value of the compensation package is dependent on the stock price, which has tanked in recent months. Vacation allowance and medical benefits are both subpar. Many of the managers are anti-process to a fault, which leads to confusing and inefficient workflows.

Its greatest strengths are the amazing people that work there. They are incredibly smart, hardworking and very open to sharing their knowledge.

Cons

SoundHound previously had a startup culture that was egalitarian but that is slowly being eroded. Things have gotten more bureaucratic.
