Pros

Friendly and supportive engineering coworkers, great amenities, and a solid 401k match (if you stay for the 5-year vesting period). The Kaiser PPO health insurance is a plus, and the company offers a strong internship program.

Cons

Management expects engineers to be available 24/7 with a work phone, leading to unpaid overtime (45+ hour work weeks are normal). Even when you're already overwhelmed, more tasks keep piling on. External hires often receive higher pay—I've seen engineers brought in at the same level earning more, and one even left for a $30k+ raise at LADWP. The CEO pushed for a return to the office, which contradicts the company's supposed commitment to safety and clean energy. The workplace isn't unionized, so there are no cost-of-living adjustments. There's no formal training program for engineers, resulting in many projects being improperly completed. Additionally, the company is planning significant layoffs by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
