Your review might be short, but I take it very seriously as it calls out the two areas of the company that we are most proud of – our products and, more importantly, our people. Tax compliance may not be the most exciting dinner conversation– but our products are far from boring. In fact, Sovos was recently recognized as a Leader in the inaugural “IDC MarketScape: Worldwide SaaS and Cloud-Enabled Sales Tax and VAT Automation Applications 2019 Vendor Assessment.” We were specifically called out for our sophisticated cloud tax software, the world’s first complete solution for modern tax. And more importantly, I completely disagree with you about the caliber of employee we have working here. Without even going into detail about how extensively we screen our candidates to ensure that they are a talent fit (and we do) all you have to do is scroll through comments on Glassdoor. What you will see over and over again are comments about the high quality of our people and the positive experiences people have had working with them. Your perception is far from the norm and I am sorry we lost your engagement somewhere. We understand and openly acknowledge that Sovos work environment is not for everyone. But one of our company goals is to create a workplace where career-minded individuals can come together to take on challenges and grow and develop themselves while making an impact on the organization. We will continue to remain committed to this and we wish you luck in your new role.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are disappointed to hear you feel this way about the Sovos management team. As an active employee, we encourage you to talk with your Manager, Senior Leader, or a member of our Executive team to more proactively address your concerns. From working at Sovos, you know employee engagement is very important to us. You have had the opportunity to complete our engagement survey as a way to share what you think we should continue doing well and what we need to improve on. As we shared with you in our All Hands meeting, 80% of our employees felt that their manager helped them grow in their role. You are also invited to participate in focus groups, new development programs, as well as our CLOUD Rotation program. We strongly believe in “Be Collaborative” as one of our core values and we hope you believe in it too. Certainly all employees and managers should support, appreciate, and recognize team members for their contributions and individual perspectives. Again, thank you for your feedback and if you would like to discuss your concerns further, please don’t hesitate to contact your local HR Associate or a member of our Leadership team.

No politics. Great market. Hard work.

Pros

> The only company I've work in where people are evaluated fairly based on performance, eliminating petty politics > Tax is actually a pretty exciting market due to the fast-changing political environment around the world. It's a massive problem for some of the world's biggest businesses, which is fun to solve from a product perspective. > Consistently hitting performance goals = relatively stable environment for a company in this stage. No surprises outside of the normal restructuring fast-growing companies go through as they mature. > Great sales culture where people help each other but work their tails off to hit the goals

Cons

* It's really hard work. This is no 9-to-5. * The unpredictable nature of a regulatory-focused business means, while there are few internal surprises, the world around the business can change overnight.
