Pros

Excellent team and leadership- they would give care packages during tax time and have meetings/ check ins for the team.

Cons

Ridiculous hours during tax time. I made it one tax season with 16 customer companies that I covered. If it hadn't been work from home the hours would have been impossible. I was part of a buy out from another software company (that's how SOVOS grows/ by buying out other companies), and so the transition from my former employer to SOVOS was a bit traumatic. I was transitioned from an sales support role to a tax compliance role and it was not for me.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are so pleased to see your satisfaction with the Compliance Services team and leadership. We take a lot of pride in knowing our support to the team creates a collaborative and inclusive environment. I am sorry to hear you did not have the best experience with our busy season. The annual nature of the tax work this team supports can be stressful, especially when you are going through a transition into a new environment at the same time. As you mentioned, we do what we can to lighten the burden by allowing flexible work arrangements and other support during the busy season. It really is an all hands on deck approach. We also offer flexible time off benefits to ensure that our teams can have the break they very much deserve after tax season is over. Every year we also have focused efforts to continue to improve the impact of the heavy workload on our operations teams during tax season. Although this role did not fit your interests, we appreciate your valiant efforts to our customers to ensure a positive experience for them. Thank you again for the time you have spent with us. We wish you the best of luck in the future!

Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear you were able to gain problem-solving skills and a better understanding of how your team’s contributions positively impact the success of the company. I am sorry to hear you feel a clear career path was not laid out for you. We take career development very seriously and want to see individuals thrive at Sovos. We rely on our leaders across the globe to be engaging with employees in conversations about professional and personal goals. At the same time, we rely on our team members to Be Proactive and Be Accountable by asking questions to their direct managers or supervisors to get more information about their own career paths and feedback on how to reach those next levels. We have processes like regular goal setting and our annual formal review to help foster these employee/manager relationships in addition to regular 1:1 meetings between employee and manager. Our Learning & Development team also provides many resources available on our intranet to help employees take ownership of their own career, supported by their direct supervisor and other leaders at Sovos. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review, and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. - Chris Sowa, Chief Commercial Officer

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Our comprehensive benefits package allows our employees to enjoy life both inside and outside of work, and it is great to hear that you found them to be favorable! We also take pride in the fact that we hire for talent FIRST. It allows us the opportunity to hire talented, motivated individuals who we know may start out in entry level roles but have the skills to move up within the organization quickly. There are so many opportunities that we provide to our employees through Leadership Development programs, Recognition programs, Mentor programs, and more. But, at the end of the day, we understand that compensation is very important to our employees. And it is important to us! I take issue with the idea that we have no desire to properly pay and retain our top talent. Our employees are the most important part of Sovos and we are constantly evaluating our compensation models and various ways to impact and improve employee retention. In fact, this past year we have had some of the lowest turnover we have ever seen. I wish that you would have raised your concerns while you were here so that we could explain some of what we are doing to impact these topics. Thanks again for your feedback, and wish you the best of luck. - Laura Handler
