Pros

I joined the SpaceBound team back in early 1990’s – when the company was much smaller. The business was on the precipice of significant growth as internet commerce was beginning to soar. I was given autonomy to basically create a department from the ground up though mechanizing manual processes and developing methods and procedures. SpaceBound gave me to freedom to be directly involved in contract negotiations, vendor selection and strategic planning. Throughout my time there, I had been both challenged and stretched professionally. My work and ingenuity was recognized and valued. It was refreshing to have been part of a team of employees that respected one another and collectively shared a standard of excellence in their work.

Cons

The new location of the company was in a small city with limited options for lunch. Streets can be a little dangerous during the winter time with snow, wind and ice.

Pros

Really none. I am a nurse and went back to get more education towards a higher degree.

Cons

I am a female so I was treated rudely by the only other female worker due to jealousy issues which her attitude made my days seem unbearable. She had a tattoo very visable on her neck and she made me cover my nose ring bc we were not allowed to show piercing or tattoos even though for some odd reason she never had to worry about her large neck tattoo showing. We also worked in the back where nobody would even see us. I worked eight hour days and by law you are to receive a 15 min paid break and a lunch break that I clocked in and out for. Well forget taking a 15 min break they don't allow it and they worked me hard so that 15 min break was well worth the time had they allowed their staff to take it. I got a lecture and told we don't take breaks when I took mine, needless to say I called the labor work dept and asked them if that was legal, and was told it was not and if you were working over 6 hours you were intitled to a paid 15 min break. I explained that to them when I returned the next day, which they didn't like. If you have any issues or concerns don't even waste your time bc nothing will resolve any issues. Oh and if you can live on getting paid once a month more power to you. That's how their pay days roll, once a month. I ended up sticking up for my rights and received a phone call the next evening from the stocking supervisor lying and saying they were running low on customer orders and I didn't need to come back as their wasn't enough work for me. So needless to say it was a horrible experience for me, I as was lied to, pay sucks and I'm glad I didn't go back. Their are way too many other jobs out their that will give you the 15 min breaks you deserve and abide by their own rules not just make the employee abide by a rule and feel bc they are management they don't have too. They work you hard and you can't trust anyone their so just don't talk to anyone and you'll do just fine...unless you get sick of being treated like trash and getting stepped on and lied to as I did lol. Just prepare yourself for a phone call with a made up story of why they don't need you to return!!

Pros

The people are great and they will treat you right in the way of incentives and vacation time.

Cons

You only get paid once a month so if you're broke and your first day is at the beginning of the month you will have to wait quite some time for a paycheck. It also seemed as though policies would change daily depending on the mood of management.
