      Unique opportunity to be involved with all aspects of space flight.

      Pros

      No place quite like it, applying a vertical model to space flight. Factory is in the back, can get hands on hardware Very talented co-workers. Unique experiences with test and launch. Stock options a plus.

      Cons

      Compensation is seemingly on the lower end. Expect a "work first" attitude. Not very team oriented, often a single person takes the fall. Function organization, dividing the stakeholders.

      Not a good place to develop your career

      Pros

      So far, SpaceX is the only company putting their money where their mouth is. When VPs or Directors want something done, it gets done right away. Engineers do get treated very well, despite the long hours. The company is very young, so seeking for career advice is limited but it makes it more comfortable for those coming out of school. Easy to move up in the ladder if you make the right friends.

      Cons

      Working with certain groups or at different sites is like being back in High School. If you are not part of a click, you will be cut. Engineering leads don't have any managerial experience. Despite having a strong technical background, if they do not like you personally, they will find a way to get rid of you permanently.

      Pros

      People hear that you work for this company and they think you have accomplished something with your life. They are jealous of you. Your family is proud of you. I think this is just about the only good thing in working for Space Exploration Technologies.

      Cons

      The overall work environment is horrible. The amount of hours the employees are forced to work is un-Godly. The pay is low but the stock options look like it could pay off.
