Pros

The pay is a plus If you put in the time and play your cards right, you will be compensated well Co-workers are great Direct leadership team is great and understanding The job its self is very straightforward, teams are well organized and work pretty well together

Cons

The biggest con is that we are forced to show up to an office to do a job that is 100% remote. There is no reason for anyone in video operations to be in the same physical building, yet management continues to insist that we show up at least three days a week. None of the equipment I work on is located in the building that I work in. I have meetings scheduled a few times a week, and even if I am in the same building as the other folks in the meeting, it is hosted remotely. Management is not transparent at all regarding why we are still in the office, and HR refuses to allow someone with COVID to work remotely. Instead forcing them to use their PTO. Politics can play too large of a role in whether or not you are promoted. Logic is sometimes thrown out the window when making decisions around how to build things for the future. Rather than work on building out the next gen architecture, we continue to band-aid existing builds. Timelines for getting things done are slow The same tasks do not take the same priority amongst different verticals causing projects to take far longer to complete then they should

Pros

Goodish compensation, hard to advance.

Cons

Uses the wrong metrics to judge job competency. No WFH very little wiggle room for life which discourages good talent.
