Pros

Free cable and internet. Salary is ok. They pay for gas.

Cons

Commission is based on installs which u have no control over. When you're about to make some money, your installs magically get rescheduled to the next month leaving you with a small fraction of what you were going to earn. Everyday management threatens to fire you if you don't hit your numbers. My coworker got an award for performance at 9am then got written up for poor performance at 10am. It's a joke.

Pros

Good benefits, medical, dental, and free cable, internet and home phone services. . Call center is open 24 hours.

Cons

It's a bad company for people with goals. I was there five years and seven months. Never got promoted once. I did everything that was recommended. They stopped allowing employees to work part time, took away all encouraging and fun programs, that made it worth working in a call center. Call centers are one of the top stressful jobs taking those things away caused most harm. I tried over 13 times to move up in the company but management picks favorites not most qualified . Part time is important for those wanting to go back to school. Months after they refuse to work with me so I could go to college I left. And will never go back. You can not pick your own hours. They no longer allow shifts to be traded. They don't care about their employees. They are never happy no matter how good you do they always find something to complain about. When I was meeting all my goals the supervisor complain that I didn't volunteer for unpaid company events. Like I own them. I use to really like charter and now I hate them just as much as I use to like them. Management not on the same page,if you ask three people the same question you will get three different answers. I could go on for hours but I have homework.

Terrible Senior Management

Pros

Once you are 5 years in, you accrue vacation faster. Frontline and mid-level employees are great to work with.

Cons

The current senior management that migrated the headquarters to Stamford CT are terribly top heavy. I have never seen so many VPs and SVPs and that feel they are above actual work. Instead of looking at the work previous management has done to progress the company, they utilize the PDOOMA method for everything. Every decision is manic and executed without ANY data to support it's success. When the decision fails to fruit any result, they like to blame others for not executing it correctly even tho those in those roles expressed serious concern from the onset. The have eroded a team building environment that once progressed the company to a toxic individualized one that pits teams that once worked together against each other for reasons that are beyond me. This set of senior management that were imported from another Northeast cable company to cash in like bandits on stock options are ruining a once great place to work. Training is non existent, the health insurance they offer is the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. Regardless of the "stock price and performance" which seems just to pad the pockets of imported senior staff, the place is a house of cards.
