Pros

It's really easy, as long as it's staffed.

Cons

It probably won't be staffed. Pay is horrible. You probably won't be able to set your own hours. Alot of the job is pretty demeaning. We once had a staff meeting where one of the minimum wage employees, with no healthcare, was berated for not pushing the manager's charity goals enough!

Pros

regular schedule, bonus potential is fairly realistic, vacation time and full benefits, No real "formal" education needed. Hard work can get you to general manager status.

Cons

Typical Corporate "b s". Many things are out of your control, but fall on the responsibility of the manager. Micromanagement from area/corporate supervisors. Store managers have very little say in hiring (done by hiring centers), so may get employees that "don't fit" mix of current employees.

Good company for young employees beginning their career course

Pros

Decent benefits, tuition reimbursement program is well designed, nice bonus program once an employee reaches eligibility, good 401k program, and the company's corporate office is one of the largest employers in the area. The company's field employee base is very large scale as well. The nature of the business will keep the company running for many years, and therefore a desirable employer to begin a career.

Cons

High turnover in field employees, many management changes in recent years, some managers not well-suited for the position they hold. While pay rates are decent, there are slow step increases in pay grades.
