Pros

Vacation pay (after a year). Sick pay (after a year). 401 K. Fast advancement, if you can be cut throat.

Cons

First of all, do not be fooled by recent reviews. Since late 2014 HR has taken to asking members of management to specifically come to Glassdoor and leave a positive review, and asking staff within the home office to do the same. Micro-managing to a ridiculous level. Multiple checklists and record keeping tasks throughout the day with no extra time or labor given to get them done. Far too many "it only takes 5 minutes" jobs to possibly get done. Very lopsided labor distribution. Busy stores have an abundance of hours, often with multiple people walking the floor, while less busy stores have barely enough hours to service customers let alone completing the required daily tasks. Often end up working multiple weeks straight due to low staffing and call offs. No discount for employees (not even free drinks while working). Long hours. On call 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Must work a minimum of 2 weekends a month. Lack of discipline/favoritism. If DM likes someone, no matter how much they steal, you are not allowed to fire them, but a good employee that the DM does not like...terminated over the stupidest thing possible. Conflicting direction from upper management. DM will often not support corporate direction or disregard it entirely. Corporate will establish work programs in stores with 500+ hrs a week then roll them out to the rest of the company, expecting stores with far less hours to achieve the same results.

Pros

I only really like working here because it was extremely close to home.

Cons

There was no actual training AT ALL. Also, we did not receive lunch hours or any discounts.

Pros

Speedway got very busy. Benefits were non existent for part-time employees. Time off policy was good as long as you called in.

Cons

Work life balance was ok, training was ok, personal growth was dependent on manager's mood.
