Pros

You do not have to have a degree to be hired directly into a management position. Fun regular customers seem to be the only plus especially the little old lady who wants you to rub her lottery tickets on you for good luck.

Cons

Speedway cares more about cleaning the store and finishing menial tasks than stopping what they're doing to jump on the register and knock the lines down. The bonus program for management is horrible. The monthly inspections are designed to be failed and when being inspected customer focus is the last thing on any employee's mind. Speedway hands out district management jobs to college grads with degrees not pertaining to management or any past management experience simply because these young grads are friends with either the VP or some higher up employee who works in the Enon office. This has a negative impact on employee moral and customer service.

Only if you're Desperate

Pros

You can work with management on your schedule and request days off, but because of the low staff, I'm wondering to what extent that is possible. Other than that, nothing that I've seen or experienced.

Cons

Pay is a joke compared to most other companies, employee discounts are virtually non-existent, and give little to no time for training. I can only speak for my location, but it doesn't have much of a friendly atmosphere. Not to mention management lacks organization and offers nothing but criticisms and double standards. It makes you develop more apathy than experience. There is also no guaranteed breaks; especially since I'll be the only one for my shift. Some nights I'll get 10 to 15 minutes to allow myself one, and others will give me only a few minutes. Will really run you dry and cripple morale.

Pros

No pros for this company.

Cons

Managers are awful. Don't expect to move up in the company. You will have to get another job if you have actual bills to pay. Customers can treat you like trash and it's okay. You will not get full time unless you are management.
