Pros

Good benefits for management, decent PTO, vacation, and paid holidays

Cons

Speedway SUCKS since 7/11 bought them out! Store managers, in my area, are salaried for 50 hrs/week, typically M-F, with specific holidays paid off. However, we are now working 60+ hrs/week with no extra compensation just to get BASIC things done in our stores! Corporate has cut our hrs SO BAD, that, where we used to be able to have a FT cook, and AT LEAST 2 people a shift, we are typically running with only 1 person on 2nd and 3rd shifts, and only 1 person a shift all day on weekends! With just 1 other person on day shift with us, during tje week, we're still expected to have the store looking perfect, all cups, lids, straws, creamers, etc fully stocked, bathrooms clean, parking lot clean, fluid and towels full, trucks put away, cook, work backstock, stock coolers, complete daily counts(which aren't just 5 or 6 things, but WHOLE SECTIONS), do paperwork, and anything else that pops up! This is EVERY DAY! OH, AND run register with your CSR when more than 3 people are in line! Even when there's only 1 person a shift working, they STILL expect that person to be able to cook, keep a clean store, clean bathrooms, and keep everything stocked and looking pretty! First, you have to do this in between customers, so 😂😂😂, and 2nd, CSRs aren't trying to work themselves to death doing all of this by themselves for what they get paid! THEN, the BPG(bullet proof glass)policy is a JOKE! You get in trouble if you DON'T follow it, but if you ACTUALLY DO follow it, for, DUH, safety reasons, you get in trouble, too, because then you're told you're not doing anything during your shift if the hrs fall between dusk and dawn! They also cut bonuses and changed the metrics so much that it's practically IMPOSSIBLE to meet them! I mean, when you're the only one there, you've had a line since you got there, the store's now a mess, you have empty cup holes, no fresh pizza, you're roller grills empty, and your bathrooms are filthy, YOU'RE GOING TO FAIL YOUR SECRET SHOP! OR your binder isn't up to date, because, yeah, we have all tje time in the world, to print that crap off all the time, fill it out, and my favorite, WATCH VIDEO about questionable transactions, so you fail THAT visit! Just on and on and on! Good managers are leaving in DROVES because they're burning out, mentally, emotionally, and physically! They're tired of working up to 16 hr days, 6/7 day weeks, and pleas for help go unanswered because Area managers' hands are tied too. The further up the ladder you go, the less they care about tje individual stores, because to them, it's all about $,$,$. If customers keep leaving and going to Sheetz, though, won't have to worry about it. They'll end up running Speedway out of town!
