Pros

Regular customers Weekly Pay Insurance & benefits available from day 1 for FT .15 off every gallon of case for employees Hot food is free for anyone that wants it once it's time to throw away Always something to do New Hire training accuracy depends on whether or not you do your 5 day onboarding/training module in the order it's intended & within your first 5 days. A lot of great information is available to assist in hands on training but if the GM rushes you through it and doesn't take the time to teach you about all the operational procedures you will most definitely miss out on important policies and procedures. Advancing within the company is really easy and doesn't require any substantial length of employment

Cons

7eleven owning Speedway Policy in regards to work orders and GM bonuses Payroll deductions can be confusing in how they are presented. Hours worked are only available for verification during clock in procedures. There's nothing allowing employees to view their total hours worked each week. Holiday pay is now x1.5 instead of x2 Annual performance reviews are currently done at the corporate level instead of store level. 2nd shift workers get screwed with having to cover 3rd shift in the event someone calls off or doesn't show up. No one is coming to relieve you Speedway (7eleven) doesn't care if you work alone on 3rd shift Speedway (7eleven) is not publicly traded and has a Japanese owner who took ownership of all company shares (a few years ago) along with privatizing the company The company is constantly changing product pricing without properly perparing the store or having an updated upc label list at the time of implementation (customers are constantly complaining about the shelf price vs register price and since we don't know prices changed until a customer says something, the front line workers end up dealing with the angry customers, even though we have no control over pricing). 7now mobile order fulfillment (80% of orders occur during 3rd shift when you're by yourself and trying to take care of physical customers - we fulfill the orders NOT the 3rd party delivery driver) If you have a complaint about a coworker don't expect anything to be done about it besides maybe transferring them to another location (Speedway currently employees multiple people that have had sexual harassment/hostile work environment complaints filed against them). Know your demographic- if you apply for a position at one location but are offered employment at a different location, make sure you know the demographic in that area so you can avoid any discriminatory or non-inclusive practices if you're easily offended or overly sensitive to opinions (if you go work for a location in a majority Caucasian or rural area the chances of working with or for someone that's racist, homophobic, sexist, misogynistic, etc are much greater & don't be surprised if you hear comments being made about others that are entirely inappropriate - also don't expect anything to be done about it if you complain higher up the ladder) Lack of operational consistency Rampant gossiping amongst members of management (within the district, not just home location) as well as, regular employees
