Pros

Competitive salary and good benefits

Cons

Lousy middle and upper management. They put real pressure on employees to participate in activities that make the company look good. Nakedly show that they don't really care about employees. Too many people running around doing the same thing, resulting in little actual progress.

Pros

- Fairly low-stress environment - Good pay - Flexible hours & working conditions

Cons

- New C-level shakeups causing uncertainty & lack of direction - Incredible amounts of technical debt, platform is too old to succeed at scale - Politics seem to decide what gets done rather than what's best for the customer

Pros

* The people - there are undeniably talented and genius staff to be found across the org. * The fun - still there to be had, just try not to get caught. * The history - Splunk in the old days was just plain funny and awesome. * Last but NOT least - the PRODUCT is solid, beyond solid. I use it and I love it.

Cons

* The geniuses are outnumbered by the chaff, as they would be anywhere. However, the median has fallen. * Facilities (upper management) - not sure wtf is going on there. * T-shirts were soooo cool and now are soooo lame. * Legal leadership lacks sense of humour - srsly, lacks sense of humour. * Splunk moves fast. People, projects, budgets, small dogs and children get run over. The underlying issues are not addressed in favour of whatever is most expedient at the time. Short-sighted leadership. Whatcha gonna do? Grow, grow, grow, never fix, fix, fix. Make it someone else's problem. Not a terribly unique problem in the industry. * IT needs some drastic TLC and not a little bit of therapy. I think someone somewhere will need to grow a pair and just say No, like Nancy Reagan. No.
