Employees No Longer Matter

Pros

Good benefits and smart employees.

Cons

Splunk is not the same place it was before Gary Steele joined, the culture has gone out the door and employees are now just a number, overworked, and undervalued. The number of steps to complete anything are over-processed, want to sneeze - you need 5 approvals and 10 steps to make sure you sneeze right - and as a result nothing is ever completed on time and employees don't feel trusted to do their best work because they are told constantly it isn't good enough. In all my years and companies, never seen so many smart people undervalued and a power hungry leadership who thinks they only know the answers.

Pros

Splunk WAS an amazing place to work when Doug Merritt led the team. People used to be nice but the culture has significantly changed.

Cons

Incompetent leadership team starting with the CEO and followed by a series of Proofpoint hires. No budget, no travel, no team events, no recognition, no fun….period.
