Love Splunk, beware of middle management
Pros
- strong product - tons of tools and resources for you to grow, learn, help yourself - great sense of community and good effort to keep things "splunky" - charitable culture--Splunk gives employees dollars to designate to their charity of choice - started great, and absolutely loved everything about Splunk
Cons
- high growth caused Splunk to lose some of its roots/identity - expanded middle management to keep up with growth and the communication is awful...they run their business and go-to-market strategies different from the executive leadership - lots of unfulfilled promises - growing management focuses on arbitrary metrics that don't align with the field/customer needs and demands - "Digital Sales" team is now all business development...different titles but the only expectation is to make dials and prospect - sophomoric leadership limits responsibilities and leaves individual reps inexperienced and unexposed to full-cycle, quota-carrying account management
