      Pros

      Really good tips from the male customers, competitive hourly pay.

      Cons

      No paid health insurance, but other salon chains don't pay or provide free health insurance either. You have to pay for it yourself if offered.

      Great clients. Flexible schedule.

      Cons

      As a manager you are expected to be a full time stylist and then manage on top of that. If you don't have an assistant manager it's easy to get burnt out. The compensation is not worth doing two jobs.

      busy locations, good public brand, promotions within company usually

      Cons

      sometimes hard to hit commissions with all the standards required, once a manager that's about highest promotion you can get so not a lot of room to move up. Owners rarely get involved in stores. Never any raises given.
