Pros

The girls I work with, good work schedule this location only I'm sure. Relaxed comfortable uniforms tennis shoes. Store hours at this location are good. Only good if you're right out of school I need to learn how to do haircuts a good place to start but you don't want to stay

Cons

Stylist do not make any money here only managers 9.00 an hour no matter if you're straight out of school or been doing hair for over 20 years everybody gets paid the same. No raises and it's hard to make goals it's even worse if you're a fast stylist you're making the shop over $40 an hour and you're getting paid 9.00. And tips are only good if you're young and good-looking because it's mostly men that you do. And they want you to upsell their shampoo treatment and most men don't want older women shampooing their hair. No individual ality here everybody talks the same to each customer there's no creativity very boring repetitive. Like I said factory. And they don't like to give you more than 30 hours a week so good luck trying to have your own place to live.

Amazing place to work

Pros

Great pay, amazing tips, laid back work environment, always busy because of trusted name. Most managers will work with you on scheduling. Free training that you get paid for. Health benefits, paid vacation, hourly plus two types of commission. You get out what you put in. Team environment..in most salons it's a very cut throat every man for himself type environment. At sport clips every one is willing to help and pitch in.

Cons

If you have visible piercings or tattoos, be prepared to take them out and cover them up. Only natural hair colors. Always have to have your hair and make up done. Very strict system that you must follow to keep your job. There is a certain way to greet the client, set up your station, certain way to cut the hair, and how to wash it. There is even a certain way you have to talk to the client. If you can't comply then you're out the door.

Pros

The company lives up to its values and is very fair in dealing with its franchisees in general. The system allows stylists to rapidly advance and make a very good living, a lot of stores start their stylists well above minimum wage. The system has closed only four stores in the last few years which is unheard of in our industry. Lots of support and training.

Cons

Sometimes you'll run into a policy that you don't agree with. Technology is a bit behind the curve, however they did just acquire a strong technology dude so that is expected to change in the very near future. You get annoyed when people says SportSClips. There are only S's in the beginning and end, not the middle. Getting upset about this does make you seem crazy to non SportClips people. Some people in HQ have Texan accents.
