Pros

Autonomy in day to day tasks, laid back culture, good work life balance

Cons

The company is going morally bankrupt for what they believe will make them more profits. I took this job because I thought they were the only company of this size that was neutral or good even, but they have effectively gutted some ERGs and are failing to explain why certain content doesn't violate content policies. I've been a part of several reorgs over the past year. I read that before I started and thought it couldn't be that bad but it can really affect you ability to grow in your career if your manager or skip level keeps changing. I've had two coworkers at the company who have left or were terminated because of bad managers. The quality of manager to manager can vary greatly. I suppose that's always the case but it's disappointing when there is no recourse.

Pros

Health Care, Human Resources Department is outstanding.

Cons

Diversity in my department was non-existent. One black woman, and me, the Latinx hire. That was it. I got Mexican beer as a Christmas gift. Didn't have the heart to tell this person I was Cuban.

Pros

Collaborative environment, great benefits, and the opportunity to work for an amazing brand

Cons

The company is growing at a pace that central teams like ours are spread too thin. I’m a manager but due to team structure I find myself doing the same work as my direct report, while also assuming higher-level strategic work. Every development talk goes nowhere because when I express the need to move on from junior work on another restructure happens and the team finds themselves absorbing work that we did not sign up for. Others can fail up while efficient workers like myself just get punished with more work. Managers like mine appear confident but are spineless “yes men” that create a false sense of urgency, only to make themselves look good. Never again. I’ve been “owed” a promotion 3 times now and when I try to move internally I’m pigeonholed. They’d rather just hire outside and not cultivate internal talent. Frustrated, tired and over it.
