Pros

The HR team when I was hired was stellar and the marketing/communications department knows how to build a brand. I’ve never seen a school district get so many hashtags from employees proud of their work. They are not stagnant and have invested in building cultural competency, which is great. I’ve worked with a number of wonderful, motivated, creative people in SLP, and personally feel I can approach anyone at any level with ideas.

Cons

Despite wanting to stay cutting-edge and innovate, I feel some of the processes could due with some more research to practice expertise. There is a bit of a “get on the bus” / fall in line attitude in some parts of the organization and more weight placed on loyalty to the district than I find comfortable.
