Pros

Many nice new buildings (if you're lucky enough to work in one). Several newly paved parking lots. Does have some employees around who are extremely professional and great to work with. Compensation actually is competitive.

Cons

Worst job experience of my life, including my fast food work. Manager had serious emotional issues, took it out on subordinates who bothered them. Got in trouble for not doing things that I was never instructed to do (was told I lacked "clinic instinct"). Once was criticized for not getting upset while in trouble, they said that's what the E.A.P. (Employee Assistance Program) was for. It was almost comical. Also, many employees outside my unit acted distant and were unhelpful, adding to the bad experience.

Money focused, not patient focused

Pros

It was nice to be able to help patients however it was done only if there was no cost to the doctors.

Cons

Top management is disconnected and almost all accountants. So you can easily see why they focus on dollars. I had some situations happen to me and was shocked at the lack of support from HR. They seemed to not care about rampant racism and sexual harassment despite verified and witnessed reports. Their response was that the director didn't handle it well. My director was not trust worthy and would seek to find out who had marked her down on the employee surveys. She was grilling myself and co-workers on if we had filled it out and what we answered about her. I would guess that some departments are great but mine was not.

Pros

There’s a good time balance for family if you live in the same place as your home location.

Cons

They used to invest in their employees and promote from within. They don’t do that anymore and would rather hire off the street. They cut all the education programs. You can make more at a fast food joint than you can in most positions with the clinic that are the face of the clinic while the higher ups make bank and see no issue. Managers have no power for discipline for toxic employees in their departments making people want to leave but maybe not leave the clinic, but when others are hired off the street instead of from within the clinic there’s always a revolving door because of it.
