Beautiful campus Dedicated to students Tuition benefits for employees and dependents Reasonable teaching load

Cons

Low pay Not keeping up with trends in higher ed due to resistance to change. Fairly low standards for admission for ALL programs, including graduate, and minimal student supports for unprepared students. Few supports for scholarly activity.

Pros

Worked there proudly for many years with great respect for the institution, students, faculty and staff. Beautiful campus and social justice focus with wonderful affiliation with the Sisters of St Joseph.

Cons

Over the last few years many faculty and staff have left because of disrespectful and often toxic leadership. It has become a stressful and intolerable situation for many.

Pros

The mission of St Kate's is great. Empowering women is more critical today than in years past. The faculty and staff are great, especially when morale is high (it currently is not).

Cons

The leadership is only concerned with profits. They view students as customers and devalue the work of academics and faculty. A series of draconian budget cuts have decimated academic affairs, while the administration continues to grow by leaps and bounds. We have had only one raise in four years. The entire administrative team, save the provost, are MBAs with little to no higher education experience.
