My boss Maggie Arnold Rabine head of cardiovascular services was wonderful and very supportive. She always worked hard to give opportunities to train and work in other avenues if desired.
Cons
It is nearly impossible to advance at St Charles. St Charles knows Bend is a desirable place to live so they don't bother to invest in their employees. Some hospitals would rather retain a hard working employee of five years and train them in a job. St Charles would rather hire someone out of state or out the area with prior experience than train employees. If even these employee have worked hard to finish a school program or degree. This happened to myself and several other employees that were friends and coworkers had to leave to a different hospital after finishing in school. It breeds a lot of resentment and unhappiness to know there's no opportunity for advancement.
