Pros

I got to provide massage to patients. That’s the only thing I cared about it. That’s the only pro

Cons

1. Pay is not good for a massage therapist. You will make more at a spa or other practice. 2. The management and nurses will not treat you fairly. They are above you and will treat you as garbage. 3. Always be ready (document well) and be alert to false claims. Cover your butt. 4. I was told by management once, “they (Alzheimer’s patient) won’t even remember you were suppose to come. So just change the schedule.” I would love for them to say that to the patients family member. 5. If your not a nurse or a manager your nothing and replaceable. 6. They will force you to fill your schedule with too many patients. It doesn’t matter what the distance. You’re just told you only need to massage them 10 minutes and then go. 7. They expect you to give education on beneficial massage so the company can make customers feel they are getting a supreme added service. when in reality as the patient numbers rise your expected to see every single one and end up only giving 10 minutes of massage time, 1 time a month. (Remember these patients are dieing, so massage being used as comfort 1 time a month is really not helping at all because you probably only see them once.) 8. They lie and say things to make you feel like they are planning to hire more help but never put an ad in. 9. The expenses of using your own vehicle are not worth it. The mileage pay is not worth it. 10. Paying to use the company vehicle is not worth it. 11. If you’re a licensed massage therapist you will not meet one other LMT in the group chat who disagrees with anything I’m saying. So please save yourself the frustration and don’t apply. Your mental health is worth much more than they will ever provide. 12. Don’t say anything during the “town meetings” you fill find your questioning to be used to make you feel bad for asking. 13. Don’t think you can speak freely, because sadly it’s cut throat and it will be used to pin you against other workers.
