An incredibly accepting and warm academic culture, which is so rare. I was continually blown away by how long folks worked at St. Edward's and how happy they were.

Cons

Standard bureaucracy for a university.

My supervisor was awesome, I worked with a teacher that was really nice. Helping other students is rewarding, and my schedule was pretty flexible.

Cons

The pay was minimum wage, but I guess that's just how all campus jobs usually are. Also, logging your hours is awful and doesn't work on macs.

Pros

Laid back atmosphere, campus-life, constantly changing environment, tuition for employee and dependents.

Cons

Management in some areas of the university do nothing to further career advancement for their direct reports, but push their employees to achieve University goals and initiatives for their own gain and career advancement, low pay, less "family-like" environment and more "corporate-like" as time goes on, high cost of benefits to employees.
