Pros

- The name on your resume. - Educational Assistance and free Caltrain. - The C-I-Care culture is great. - Annual across the board increases - only if you don't have a write up. - Benefits and Wellness Program is good.

Cons

- Only will hire or promote you if you know someone who works in the department. - Very political, in all departments. - Promotes people only if they can't fill the position, so a lot of the times the person who is promoted to that role is not qualified for the position. - Hires you based on your personality. So you can have all the right skills, but if they don't like your personality, you won't get it. If you have none of the skills, but you are bubbly and outgoing, then you go it. - Management does not know how much work their team actually has. - They alter your time card to avoid paying meal penalties. - Under staffed departments - not only in the corporate/business departments, but also short staffed within the hospital. - The shift is M-F, 8am-5pm. There is so much work, and they don't want to hire additional head count, so you may be required to stay till 10pm at night or come in on the weekends. - Employees have so much work to get done, but management does not know their employee's work load and they won't approve OT, so employees will stay and work off the clock to ensure job safety.

Pros

Good benefits and work like balance. Pay is decent for a non-profit. Good work happening in other areas of the org. Just not in IT.

Cons

Many layers of middle management and many incompetent middle managers. Culture of 'passing the buck' with only the people at the bottom doing any real work.
