      Nice Benefits, big reputation to fool the public with.

      Cons

      People are too caught up in themselves. No room for advancement. Management does not know how to manage. Too political. cronyism runs rampant

      Pros

      Working with the world-class people who work and study here is awesome. The work environment is generally excellent, and the campus is beautiful.

      Cons

      The salaries that the University offers don't keep up with the insanely high cost of living here. Fifteen years ago, it wasn't bad. Five years ago it was worse, but tolerable. Now, deep into the latest silicon valley boom, the salaries that the University offers have fallen so far behind that it really requires a labor of love, or some independent wealth, to keep working here.

      Great community of interesting, excited people. The scientists, researchers, and students are heroicly dedicated and collaborative

      Cons

      Administration and bureaucracy is getting increasingly cumbersome over the years, not improving. Entropy I suppose. Also, pay consistently and dramatically lower than market value
