Community Services Agency - Toxic Supervisory Staff

Experience of working for a governmental agency.

Cons

1) EVERYONE starts at base pay regardless of level of experience or education. 2) Supervisory staff are not friendly nor supportive thereby creating a very uncomfortable (bordering hostel) work environment. 3) Department turnover is high.

Stable job equals 3 stars.

Cons

I was there for 12 years. I worked hard. I was loyal. I took initiative. I had fresh ideas. I have 7 years of college; 2 degrees and was eventually promoted 1 step which accounted towards a .50 cent per hour raise. I watched people with much less experience and some with no degrees move up. I saw many capable employees with much experience and Master's degrees get passed up for promotions. Why is that?

Ability to do multiple jobs while remaining at one "company". Competitive pay. Opportunity for growth.

Cons

Benefits have went down severely. The higher your position, the more political it becomes which makes working here a bit unbearable.
