My experience comes from the operations side, and I can tell you we were promised BIG THINGS when our company was acquired. We were even promised large roles with Stantec and were told that the company does this often, but that each of the company's respective practices would be reviewed closely and the best policies and programs would be selected. This did not happen. As time rolls on, it's clear that this was never their intention and that things would slowly shift to Stantec's way of doing business. It is sad for those of us who were excited to see new and improved changes. It is demoralizing for everyone when promises are made and fall-through (habitually). There is clearly no leadership, or when the only instruction that is given is to leave things the same. It seems no one wants to get in muck to actually determine best practices and provide guidance. Those in leadership that are supporting changes and progress are eventually shut down by the politics played. I honestly don't know how they will keep good people around much longer. It's disheartening. This company has great potential, but until significant changes are made there is very little hope for that.
