Pros

High salary, opportunities to work on different kinds of projects all over the U.S., some supportive supervisors, training opportunities

Cons

I believe most of my negative experiences are specific to the office I worked in. Unorganized leadership and structure, you are often independent and working on different projects from your peers in the office so there's no group cohesion and you typically only interact with PMs on projects. You don't have a defined role so they will typically put you on random tasks for projects where they need help. Healthcare benefits were awful. Unhealthy work culture (most people working >40 hours and mid to upper management has their entire calendar blocked off with calls). Most (not all) of management truly doesn't care about junior employee retention, and spends more of their time trying to acquire well-known senior staff than support their junior staff.

Pros

Smart coworkers, potentially interesting innovative projects, decent pay. Diversity and office culture is encouraged.

Cons

VERY corporate. Too large, and continues to be diluted by further acquisitions of smaller companies. Many are siloed in projects, and there is little opportunity for job mobility within the company. Each business line is treated as a separate company, and company policies may differ between departments. Don't get sold on the morality of their environmental work, as they are just as involved in building major pipelines and supporting mining and extraction operations. Some of the practices are legally questionable, and they love spreading corporate positivity, but there is no substance to back it up. To succeed here you need to keep your head down and fit into a mold.
