Pros

Higher salary than a typical outside sales role.

Cons

Corporate culture is awful. Outside sales role incorporates a lot of time spent on the phones calling potential clients - very call centre-ish. Management cannot see past the "Staples way" of selling and this technique does not fly with many potential clients. Very metrics driven and use Salesforce to micromanage. This job has the highest turnover rate in entire company.

Pros

Staples is the top company in the market place. When you call a prospect they know your name and are likely to give you an appointment and likely to do business with you. There is some potential to make decent money and move up to management. Benefits were great. Staples is a fortune 500. Looks good on resume

Cons

Very high pressure. High turnover rate. Saturated market. It's rare that someone lasts more than two years as a BDA (that's because of burnout, not promotion). Some managers define the term micro-manager.
