Pros

Working with customers and learning about products. Fast past environment with lots of things to do. Also having great co-workers made the job fun. My location co-workers was like a family...really looked out for another especially during busy times such as back to school.

Cons

Not enough hours and advancement can take forever if there is any room for you. Hourly pay is not that great. Management can stress you out for sales goals and there isn't much rewards for doing so which can leave you feeling uninspired.

Pros

Managers were cool and friendly, willing to work with schedule. Minors and adults are given specific timed breaks which is nice. Cashier or floor jobs are alright.

Cons

Pay was way too low for the stress and amount of things to do. Was paid $8 hourly, and I wouldn't take the job back for $11 an hour. Trained for the copy and print center. All it was was a bunch of boring CD's that did not teach me enough. I only got two days on the floor training in the copy and print center and the girl was way to busy to show me anything, and had been there so long she didn't really know how to teach the ways. On my first day by myself in the print center I got so stressed out I got physically sick. There is WAY TOO MUCH to do and learn for just one person. And copy and print center does the fedex. It was really hard not knowing how to do anything and I had people coming in with important documents like master thesis', wedding invitations, business cards, huge blueprints- I was terrified to mess up these people's things. It was extremely stressful.

Pros

Pretty good values considering we are talking about retail. The training process was well-designed and helpful.

Cons

-The schedule. As a part-time associate in the copy & print center, I did not get more than 20 hours a week and would usually get 3h long shift and then a full day (usually on weekends). -Management expects waaaay too much. Working in the copy & print center, I'm earning the same as a cashier...yet I was expected to drive sales up, basically by asking tons of questions to every business owner that walks in the store. Then the manager would talk to me once a day to find out what I learned about new clients. The amount of information we had to gather on new customers was ridiculous and a lot of people were not comfortable with associates trying to learn everything about them. And the girl who had been in the copy & print center for years was expected to do even more than that (she was responsible for ordering more supplies) and was way underpaid for the amount of work she did. -The store I worked at was often under-staffed. I often did not get to take my breaks (15 min unpaid break). Since my schedule was usually a 3 hour or 4h long shift, I was driving to the store to get paid for less than I actually worked. - The benefits offered were decent, but I couldn't afford opting in since I was working less than 20 hours a week. - We had daily goals to achieve (sign up so many people for the rewards program, sell them season passes to get discounts, etc). I specifically asked during the interview process if there were any quotas to meet as far as sales were concerned and was told no.
