When I first started with Starbucks it was great and than I moved to Nova Scotia where everything is done very different
Pros
They do provide excellent training and the benefits are fantastic . The chance of inter provincial transfers are suppose to be easy and they do offer great perks regarding free coffee and free drinks when working. They do pay above the minimum wage as well.
Cons
If you are in Ontario and going west the Starbucks seems to follow the Corporation standards. From Quebec towards the east issues are not resolved and the districts seem to have their own standards and way of doing things that is not to say all districts are this way but the district I worked in the standards varied from store to store and if a partner brought up issues they were deemed trouble makers and forced out of their jobs. Transfers were not given freely when there were openings in other stores and they hired externally more often than not, with a high turnover of the managers that were hired externally. Optimal scheduling is suppose to be in affect but yet was not a practice that was followed.
